CLOGSAG Suspends Strike, Orders Staff to Return to Work

CLOGSAG Halts Strike, Instructs Members to Resume Work.

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has decided to suspend its strike after an emergency meeting of its National Executive Council (NEC) on Friday, March 28, 2025. 

The move is intended to allow further dialogue with relevant authorities to address the concerns that led to the industrial action.

In a statement signed by Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo, the association urged its members to return to work on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. 

The suspension of the strike is expected to restore normal operations in the civil and local government sectors, which had been impacted by the protest. 

CLOGSAG reiterated its commitment to fostering industrial peace while pursuing improved working conditions for its members.

The strike had drawn attention to unresolved issues surrounding salary structures, disrupting public services. 

The association remains determined to secure fair remuneration and benefits for workers, emphasizing that such improvements are vital for productivity and job satisfaction within the public sector.

By opting for dialogue, CLOGSAG has shown readiness to engage constructively with government representatives and stakeholders. 

This decision opens the door for productive negotiations aimed at achieving lasting solutions. As employees prepare to resume duty, there is optimism that discussions will yield positive outcomes for both workers and the public service sector as a whole.

2025 Salary Adjustment Announced for Public Service Institutions on the Single Spine Structure The Government of Ghana has approved a 10% across-the-board salary increase for all public sector institutions under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).  This follows the successful conclusion of negotiations on the 2025 base pay, as confirmed in a recent communication from the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.
