GES Embarks on Capacity-Building Initiative for Effective Procurement Management
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched a comprehensive virtual capacity-building workshop designed specifically for Heads and Procurement Officers of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools (SHS/SHTS).
This 10-day workshop, scheduled from March 10th to March 20th, aims to enhance the procurement management skills of participants, aligning with the government's new directive to procure food items at the local level.
The workshop's curriculum encompasses a range of critical topics, including:
1. Overview of Procurement: An introduction to the fundamental principles and concepts of procurement management.
2. Procurement Planning: Strategies for effective planning, budgeting, and scheduling of procurement activities.
3. Preparation of Tender Documents: Guidance on creating comprehensive and compliant tender documents.
4. Framework Agreement: Understanding the benefits and implementation of framework agreements in procurement.
5. Preparation of Evaluation Report: Best practices for evaluating bids and preparing detailed evaluation reports.
6. Contract Management: Effective strategies for managing contracts, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks.
