In Sorrow: The Association of Students of English, KNUST, Mourns the Passing of another student, Bertha Kokale Hammond.

The Association of Students of English, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (ASEK), is deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of our beloved member, Bertha Kokale Hammond, a final-year student of English. Her demise has left an unfillable void in our lives, and we are profoundly sorrowful.


As we mourn the loss of our cherished colleague, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Bertha's family, friends, and loved ones during this agonizing moment. May we find solace in the memories of her radiant smile, unwavering enthusiasm, and remarkable spirit. 

Bertha's passing is a tremendous loss, not only to her family and friends but also to our academic community.


As a department, we pay tribute to Bertha's legacy, remembering her as a dedicated and talented student whose creativity, passion, and presence will be deeply missed.

 Her contributions to our community were invaluable, and her memory will continue to inspire us. We will deeply miss her bright smile, her love for literature, and her infectious enthusiasm.


We will provide updates on funeral arrangements and any memorial services that may be organized to honor Bertha's memory.

 In the meantime, all ASEK students are requested to wear black on Monday, March 10, 2025, and Wednesday, March 12, 2025, as a sign of respect and solidarity. We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate Bertha's life and mourn her passing.


May Bertha's memory forever live on in our hearts. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy will continue to motivate and inspire us. We will cherish the memories we shared with her and strive to keep her spirit alive.

Ghana Education Service Issues Directive on 68th Independence Day Parade and Holiday – March 2025 The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released official guidelines regarding the 68th Independence Day celebrations scheduled for Thursday, 6th March 2025.  This year’s commemoration will be held under the theme, “68th Independence Anniversary Celebration: Reflect , Review , Reset ,” and will feature a scaled-down parade at the Forecourt of the Jubilee House in Accra. Unlike previous large-scale parades, this year’s ceremony will see the President inspecting a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces at the Jubilee House.  However, GES emphasizes that district-level parades will still take place across the country.
